It is Saturday. The eve before week 6 in the NFL. I’m going to go over a few thoughts I have on the slate and the debut of the CGG (The Cash God Guarantee).
For some reason the NFL thought it was a good idea to make 9 games kickoff at noon and only 2 late. This greatly hinders the late hammer.
I don’t really have any strong thoughts on the QBs. None of them have wronged me. I’ll probably end up going heavy on Watson, Stafford, Cousins, Tannehill and maybe a little Matt Ryan. But if there is a QB in the bunch that is actually kind of a dustball it might be him. I have a hard time playing QBs on the expensive side that are continental soldiers in the pocket with 0 rushing ability.
There are several running backs that look like they’re going to be chalk. King Henry is a home favorite versus a bad rushing defense. That is lock city. We all saw the stiff-arm. Set the min exposure to 100% and move on. Other running backs I like are Jonathan Taylor, James Robinson, David Montgomery and Gas Can (Myles Gaskin). I left out Mattison because we aren’t getting a discount at $7.2k and he is projected at over 30% ownership. I’ll likely keep my pool of running backs to these select few with maybe a couple others sprinkled in. If I end up eating chalk so be it.
WR is where you can start getting creative. This is also where this a fine line between an absolute fucking dustball and a good play. At one point, very recently, I had talked myself into a couple Jets. Multiple jets. It is never a good idea to play players on an offense that is led by horse ass and horse ass accomplice, Joe Flacco and Adam Gase. I will point out that Jamison Crowder is really good and am fine playing him or Jeff Smith in separate lineups. I’m not going to beat the dead horse that is ATL-MIN WR. No one wants to read or learn any more about it. Play anyone and everyone from either side. I also like Chris Godwin considering Mike Evans should be shadowed by Jaire Alexander. Lions stack is also a good one to target with plenty of bring back options for Jacksonville. I will likely be heavy on Laviska Shenault Jr if Chark ends up being ruled out. Refer to the QB list above for more WR that I like because I will be stacking the QBs with one or more of their pass catchers. So I won’t be listing off every single receiver. One-off plays I like are Shit Chest (Odell), Claypool, and Allen Robinson (more on him later).
I’ll just preface this TE section by saying TE has largely been an absolute ass shit position this year for fantasy so I’m finding it really difficult to pay up for one. There is only one option for paying up this week and it’s Mark Andrews. Otherwise put the min exposure on Irv Smith Jr. at $2.5k to 100% and move on.
Finally, what everyone has been waiting for. The debut of the Cash God Guarantee. This is a player who I will own highly and I think will vault you into great position to win GPPs. This week that player is Allen Robinson. I’d like to provide you with a live look of me on Sunday when Robinson scores twice and has 150 yards:
The matchup and the leverage he provides off of the chalky David Montgomery are a tournament winning combo that I will be heavy on.
Look for my recap article for Week 6 on Tuesday or Wednesday. Good luck.
