Arnold Palmer Preview: Cockrack’s Return to Glory

I got absolutely shit on. This was one of the worst weeks in any sport. I cashed zero of my 20 lineups. When you end up with 80% Joaquin and Aaron Wise that will happen.

I’m going to get right into my plays for this week. This is a course for the ball strikers.

In the $10k+ range, it’s hard to get past Rahm Cock without clicking him. That’s about the only play I can recommend in this range. Rahm does not have much course history, but is a ball-striker at his core and is clearly the best player in the field. He is likely the only player above $10k I will play. I will say if you can tell me which one of these pictures is Rory McIlroy you are allowed to play him this week:

In the $9k range, it’s time for Sung-jae’s bounce back. He falls into a spot where he is likely not to catch as much ownership as the players around him in price. Sung-jae has generally been good this year outside of last week’s debacle. He has great course history with two top 5 finishes in the last 3 years at this tournament.

The other play I like in this range is Tyrrell Hatton. He hasn’t played in over a month and his last tournament was in the Dubai Desert, where he brought out his dick and finished 4th.

You need to know when going back to the well is a detriment to your bankroll. I can assure you that’s not the case this week. I am playing Talor Gooch ($8.6k) again. Mr. Gooch, please do not let me down.

Two other plays I like in the $8k range are Billy Horsecock and Cameron Triangle. All three have played well lately outside of Mr. Gooch’s horrific missed cut at Riviera.

There are a few plays I like in the $7k range and it was tough to narrow it down. My favorite, and maybe one of the best plays in the entire field, is Tommy Fleetwood Mac. He had a bit of a disaster of a second round at PGA National, but his course history at the Arnie speaks for itself (Multiple top 10s and a top 3). There is no better time for him to bounce back and you will be able to get him at sub 5% ownership.

Another name I like is Seamus Power. It’s the fucking power hour. He’s a bit of an unknown given that he has not played in this tournament, but that can be an advantage since he won’t attract as much ownership. He stumbled a bit at these last two events, but has been on a tear otherwise with 3 top 10 finishes in 2022.

The only other play I like in this range is Gary Woodcock, of course. He is coming off of his best tournament (Top 5 finish) since he injured his hip doing pelvic thrusts. The only concern is his lack of experience at the course. I was able to find a video of Woodland’s hip injury. Really tough to watch:

I went over the perils of going back to the well just a bit ago, but holy shit, Aaron Wise owes me money. I’m playing him and a lot of him at that. He is by far the best play in the $6k range and is too talented to be missing cuts.

Another play I like in this range is Carlos Ortiz. He is one of the better values on the slate and has played a few tournaments at this course. This year, he’s already made the cut in a strong field at Riviera which makes me like his chances this week.

My final play in the $6ks is Danny Lee. This is a bit of a deep dive, but he has significant course history, including two straight made cuts (one being a top 5 finish). At $6.3k you can’t really ask for much more than that.

It’s time for the Arnold Palmer CGG. This week it’s Jason fucking Cockrack. Who else? He knows nothing but dominant performances at this tournament (2 top 10 finishes in the past 3 years). CBS aired a clip this week where they had a mummy make its pick for who would win this tournament:

My body is ready for this victory. I’ll be back next week.
