I went full-blown donkey dick last week. I’m not sure what the fuck I was thinking with Clark going against the armbar queen. Strickland was also a massive mistake. Needless to say, my lineup was near dead last and I need to deposit again.
I’ll get right into the plays for this week.
The first name that I like this week is Jamie Mullarkey. He is the third biggest favorite on the card and is -105 to get an inside-the-distance win. He’s won 2 of his last 3 fights and I expect him to have no problem with this one as long as he can keep Johnson upright. He is a powerful striker that should get a KO win. Here’s a picture I found of Mullarkey in the process of jizzing next to Johnson after a quick round 1 KO on Saturday:

Caio Borralho is the next name that stood out to me. He has the best odds to win inside the distance (+120) or finish the fight in round 1 (+250) of any fighter below $9k on Draftkings outside of Vanderaa. Unless you’re planning on taking chalk down your throat all night by playing Vanderaa this seems like a much better play at around 10% less ownership.
This next play is impossible to pass up. Frank Gore’s son, Tresean, is fighting Cody Brundage. There is no way I’m not playing the son of a fucking NFL legend. His ownership % will be a bit higher at around 33%, but this is a near-lock for me on name basis alone. At $8.3k he’s +215 to finish the fight inside the distance and I expect him to do so on Saturday night.
It’s time for a few underdogs.
The first one I like is only a slight underdog. The name is Karl Roberson and he is seemingly a very obvious play to me. He’s +180 to finish the fight inside the distance, which is 6th best on the entire card. His 21% ownership is far too low for those finish odds and at only $8k I don’t see a much better play. If he can get ground control on Nzechukwu he will have a great shot at pretzeling his sorry ass into submission. This is by far my favorite play on the slate.
Another NFL son is on the card. This time it’s Dick Sherman’s son, Chase. Chase Sherman is a dangerous striker who seemingly can only win via knockout. He has lost 4 fights in a row and is a significant underdog in this fight, but he will be one of the lower-owned fighters on the card at 15%. All it takes is one fucking punch and father Richard will be smiling from the stands as his son wins the fight. His opponent, Vanderaa, is projected to be the 3rd highest-owned fighter on the slate so this is one of the higher leverage spots if you’re playing tournaments like me. If you’re not playing Gore then I think a better play would likely be Cody Brundage, but I’m playing Gore so I’ll be slam-firing Chase.
The final play is Nina Nunes, wife of Amanda Nunes. I guess this is family week for UFC. The ownership projections are simply not factoring in the chances of her winning this fight or the randomness of women’s MMA. I already got dick-blasted last week by some of that variance and I’m not going to let it happen again. For her to win she’d need to get an extremely lucky knockout or have it go to the judges. Having said that you’re not going to beat 11% ownership with around a 42% chance to win the fight.
I’ll be back next week.
